Search Engine Optimization for HVAC Websites

2014 May 23

Does Your HVAC Company Follow Google’s Search Engine Updates?

Google updates their search engine all the time. They continually do changes to help their web visitor find what they are looking for, and have a better experience.  Their updates from Penguin and Panda have changed the way their search engine works. You can search real well for certain keywords today but tomorrow you might drop in the page rankings. There are some tips below to help your website work well with the Google updates:

1.       Only One Keyword Or Key Phrase Per Page

Google has their own way of finding out what your web pages are all about.

You don’t need to use just one key phrase to make sure that Google knows what your web page is all about. Google’s search engine algorithm is now more sophisticated, and is looking for social media as well.  You need to insert the keywords into different places on your web page, post about similar topics on your Facebook page and blog about similar information.

2.       No Keyword Stuffing

Google’s algorithm gets more refined each time they update it. They want to make sure that the visitors actually receive the right information and high quality information. A lot of websites have stuffed their websites with keywords in the past and now with the changes they have to go back and redo their SEO.

Putting as many keywords and phrases as you can on your website is not good. Putting a large quantity of keywords on your website will hurt you SERP (Search Engine Results Page) and decrease your website visitors. You need to make sure that you have quality content and it makes sense.

3.       Remember To Think About Keywords

There are copywriters out there who think Google is only looking for original content and copy. They believe that they shouldn’t worry about keywords or key phrases.

Search Engine Optimization – is the process of increasing the visibility of your website for specific keywords and key phrases on search engines.

When Google talks about original or natural content they don’t mean ignore keywords. Ranking well requires the use of key phrases on your website and original content. You need to use those key phrases where it makes sense.

Even though a keyword in your industry may be more popular then others, do not put it into a sentence where it doesn’t make sense. For example: if the key phrase is “air conditioning installation” don’t put it into a sentence or on a page that talks about furnace installation.

There is a lot more that goes in to search engine optimization but if you pay attention to these things you will you website will be found by your customers.

What is Your HVAC Company’s Online Identity?

2014 April 1

What does your company look like online?

Can potential HVAC customers find you? Your site might be appealing to you, but if Google doesn’t hear you then your site won’t get found, and won’t drive your growth.

Update Your Google Plus Business Page

If your Business Name, Address, and Phone Number are inaccurate, then the major search engines will not pick up your information. Make sure your information on your Google + Business Page and your website match. The Business Name, Address, Phone Number, and the URL have to be an exact match with your Website and Google+ Business page. The slightest inaccuracy will negatively impact your search engine results.

It is all about FINDABILITY

SurfingDuct‘s goal is to make sure HVAC customers can find you and contact you. They may not know your name, but if they search for HVAC Repair, Heating Repair, AC Repair, Replacement and Installation Services, or other services you provide in your area, they should be able to learn and find your Name, Address, and Phone Number.

If you aren’t sure how your website is searching, don’t have a website, or need more information, contact us today at 888-432-6003 Option 2. We can provide a brief assessment, get you headed in the right direction, and make sure your business can BE SEEN – GET FOUND!
